Aerial Silk is the use of a long piece of fabric suspended from the ceiling to climb, wrap and transition through choreographed movements. Aerialists develop a strong upper body, core, flexibility, and love for movement as they learn to dance in the air. Strong emphasis is placed on safety and building confidence as aerialists learn they can do hard things and have a blast while doing it!
Level 1 Aerialists will learn body awareness and flexibility as they grasp the fundamentals of climbing. Athletes will learn basic climbs, knots, wraps and more as their strength and confidence take flight.
Level 2 Aerialists learn to invert, practice transitions and begin the basics of aerial drops. Muscular endurance is a focus as athletes stay in the air for longer periods of time.
Level 3 Aerialists will invert, wrap, pose, and drop as they construct their own aerial routine. Focus will be on technique, smooth transitions and the art of performing.
* Tight fitting top and ankle length capris are required for all aerial classes
